  • 12 oz cheese tortellini The star of the dish, adding comfort and richness.

Preparation

  • Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add butter and melt over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  • Add cooked tortellini, browned sausage, and chopped kale into the creamy sauce. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the kale has wilted.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

For an extra kick, consider adding red pepper flakes while cooking the sausage. Spinach can substitute for kale. To increase creaminess, add more heavy cream or cream cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
