Ingredients
  

Noodles and Proteins

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles Soft and chewy, providing the perfect base.
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank cut into strips) Rich and meaty, adding savory bite.
  • 1/2 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined) Sweet and tender, elevating the dish.

Vegetables

  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots) Crunchy medley adds color.

Aromatics and Sauces

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced) Earthy and aromatic.
  • 1 inch ginger (minced) Adds a zesty kick.
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce Provides umami flavor.
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce Enhances sweetness and richness.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil Essential for stir-frying.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Balance out flavors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Cooking

  • Quickly add minced garlic and ginger to the oil and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the steak strips and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, stir-fry the shrimp until they turn pink, around 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vibrant yet slightly tender.
  • Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Add the lo mein noodles, soy sauce, and oyster sauce, tossing everything together until well coated.
  • Give the dish a final seasoning of salt and pepper to taste before serving.
  • Serve hot, garnished with extra vegetables or herbs if desired.

Notes

Marinate the steak in soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for 30 minutes prior to cooking for deeper flavor. Add red pepper flakes or Sriracha sauce for a spicier kick. For vegetarian options, substitute steak and shrimp with tofu or tempeh.
