Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef Tender and juicy, this is the centerpiece of the dish.
  • 1 cup steamed white rice Serves as a wonderfully fluffy base.

Seasonings

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aroma and depth.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Offers a rich umami flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes Adjust to taste for desired spice.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Adds nutty aroma.
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar Balances heat with a touch of sweetness.

Vegetables

  • 1 cup broccoli florets Provides essential nutrients.
  • 1/2 red bell pepper sliced into strips Adds crunch and color.
  • 1/2 zucchini sliced Mild flavor complements other veggies.
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced Earthy and meaty texture.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Double garlic is always better!
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing the vegetables.
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce Extra flavor for veggies.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash and chop all the vegetables, mince four cloves of garlic, and measure out the soy sauce and seasonings.

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 teaspoon of sesame oil and the minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces.
  • Stir in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar, then simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.

Sautéing the Vegetables

  • In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Add mushrooms and cook for about 2 minutes until softened.
  • Add broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp, stirring frequently.
  • Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and toss to coat.

Assembly

  • Place hot, steamed white rice into bowls. Arrange beef and sautéed vegetables on top or side by side.
  • Spoon any extra sauce over the bowl if desired.

Notes

Consider adding fresh herbs for garnish or using different proteins for variation.
