Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1.5 cups crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (e.g., Oreos) Provides a rich flavor
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Brings creaminess and richness
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract For a refreshing flavor
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (or melting wafers) For coating the snowballs
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candy canes For topping and decoration

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, powdered sugar, softened cream cheese, and peppermint extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  • Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate or freeze the balls for about 15 minutes (in the freezer) or up to an hour (in the fridge) until firm.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler until smooth.
  • Dip each snowball into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, then sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy canes.
  • Place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and chill until the chocolate sets.
  • Store in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer preservation.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of sea salt to the cream cheese mixture. You can use colored chocolate melts instead of white chocolate for a fun twist.
