  • 2 1/4 teaspoons powdered gelatin 1 packet for perfect setting.
  • 2 tablespoons cold water To activate the gelatin.

For Topping

Preparation

  • Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a small bowl and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes to bloom.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the eggnog, heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally until the mixture reaches 170°F without boiling.
  • Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the bloomed gelatin, stirring until completely dissolved (about 1-2 minutes).
  • Strain the mixture using a fine-mesh sieve into a measuring cup or bowl to ensure a smooth texture.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into six small ramekins. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.

Serving

  • When ready to serve, dip the ramekins in hot water for 5-10 seconds to loosen. Run a knife around the edges, then invert onto serving plates.
  • Top generously with whipped cream and a light dusting of cinnamon or nutmeg before presenting.

Notes

Use high-quality eggnog for the best flavor! Consider adding almond extract or chopped nuts for variation. If you don’t have ramekins, small glass jars or teacups work perfectly for this dessert.
