Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mix becomes light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).

Baking

  • Drop scoops of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving ample space between each scoop.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until cookies are just set. Keep an eye on them — they will look soft but will firm up as they cool.
  • Allow cooling on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes to prevent spreading. Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor. Experiment with mix-ins.
