Dry Ingredients

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9-inch round pan using butter or cooking spray, or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt, granulated sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually sift in the all-purpose flour and baking powder, then gently fold until just combined.
  • If using, fold in the lemon or orange zest.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cooling

  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
