Chocolate Dipping Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional) To thin the chocolate for smoother dipping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cream together butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract until evenly distributed.
  • Gradually add flour, mixing gently until it just comes together.
  • Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the chilled dough to a ¼-inch thickness on a dusted surface with powdered sugar.
  • Cut out star shapes with cookie cutters.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  • Cool cookies on a wire rack completely.

Dipping

  • Melt dark chocolate chips (and coconut oil if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  • Dip each cooled cookie halfway into the melted chocolate and let the excess drip off.
  • Place on parchment paper and allow to set at room temperature or refrigerate until hardened.

Notes

Use good quality chocolate for the best flavor. Chill dough if it becomes too soft. Decorate cookies with sprinkles while chocolate is warm.
