Preparation

  • Add frozen cherries and cooked beets to your blender. Follow with Greek yogurt, fresh lime juice, almond milk, chia seeds (if using), and honey or maple syrup (if desired).
  • Blend at low speed initially, then increase to high speed until creamy and smooth.
  • Pause occasionally to scrape down the sides of the blender.
  • Check consistency; add more almond milk if too thick, or more frozen cherries/ice if too thin.
  • For an extra cold smoothie, add a handful of ice cubes and blend again until smooth.
  • Pour into a glass and garnish with a lime wedge if desired.
  • Sip and savor immediately.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients when possible for the best taste. For added creaminess, consider adding half a frozen banana. Adjust sweetness to preference with more honey or maple syrup. Spinach or kale can also be added for extra nutrients without altering flavor.
