Smoothie Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen sweet cherries, pitted Provides a sweet and slightly tart flavor.
  • 1/2 cup cooked beets, cooled (about 1 medium beet) Adds earthiness and vibrant color.
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative) Adds protein and a creamy texture.
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from about 2 limes) Brings a zesty brightness.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other milk) Keeps the smoothie light and creamy.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds Optional, for omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup Optional, adds sweetness.
  • as needed cubes Ice For a chilled smoothie.
  • 1 piece Lime wedge For garnish.

Instructions

Preparing the Smoothie

  • Combine the frozen cherries, cooked beets, Greek yogurt, fresh lime juice, almond milk, chia seeds (if using), and honey or maple syrup (if desired) into your blender.
  • Start blending on low speed and gradually increase to high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Stop and check the smoothie’s texture; if it’s too thick, add a bit more almond milk, or if it’s too thin, toss in more ice and blend again.
  • If you prefer a colder smoothie, add ice and blend again until the mixture is smooth and frosty.
  • Pour the smoothie into a glass, add a lime wedge for garnish if desired, and savor immediately.

Notes

To enjoy the best quality, consume the smoothie right after blending. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 24 hours or freeze for future use. Consider variations with different fruits or vegetables.
